O'r Wasg
Mae pawb yn haeddu cael eu trin ag urddas

Ymateb WLGA i'r darn yn y Western Mail am daliadau i weithwyr cymdeithasol

Gan ymateb i ddarn yn y Western Mail heddiw fod cynghorau'n rhoi taliadau ychwanegol i weithwyr cymdeithasol, meddai llefarydd ar ran WLGA:

“Mae pob un o'r 22 awdurdod lleol yn gyflogwr annibynnol sy'n cytuno ar gyflogau a thelerau gweithwyr cymdeithasol yn yr un modd ag unrhyw swydd arall mewn awdurdod lleol. Mae'r cyflogau a'r telerau 'n cael eu pennu'n deg ac yn destun proses gadarn ar gyfer gwerthuso swyddi. O'u cymharu â'r athrawon, er enghraifft, sy'n cael eu talu ledled y DG yn ôl statud gwladol, mae staff awdurdodau lleol Cymru – gan gynnwys gweithwyr cymdeithasol - yn dod i gytundeb â'u cyflogwyr ynglŷn â faint o arian sydd i'w roi iddyn nhw."

Bydd gweithwyr cymdeithasol ymysg y rhai cyntaf i dderbyn y frechlyn ffliw moch, dyna oedd neges y llywodraeth i'r Western Mail.

Newyddion y DU
Adroddiad gwleidyddol: Pwy fyddai’n weithiwr cymdeithasol?

Crib y rhewfryn yn unig yw recriwtio gweithwyr cymdeithasol o wledydd tramor.
Mae’n un o’r symptomau o anniddigrwydd sy’n peri’r pryder mwyaf ac sydd wedi bod yn gwaethygu ers dechrau’r ganrif – ac sydd bellach wedi’i wthio’n agosach at y dibyn gan drasiedi Baban P.

WLGA responds to Western Mail story on councils paying 'supplements' for social workers

Spokesperson said:

“Local authorities are 22 independent employers. Social workers’ pay and terms and conditions are agreed in the same way as other professions within a local authority. They are agreed fairly and subject to a robust job evaluation process. Unlike teachers for example who have a UK pay structure set by national statute, local authorities across Wales are responsible for agreeing locally their individual pay structures which includes the pay scales for social workers.
