Mae tasglu gwaith cymdeithasol (Lloegr) yn cefnogi’r coleg fel modd o wella cefnogaeth ac arweinyddiaeth i broffesiwn sydd dan bwysau.  Mae Gweinidogion wedi nodi y byddan nhw’n cefnogi’r gwaith o sefydlu coleg cenedlaethol i roi arweinyddiaeth newydd i’r proffesiwn ar ôl y cyfnod anodd gydag achos Babi P a materion dadleuol eraill.

Ministers back plans for a national social work college

Social work taskforce (England) supports college as way to improve support and leadership for beleaguered profession.  Ministers have indicated that they will back the establishment of a national college for social work to give fresh leadership to the profession after its buffeting over the Baby P affair and other controversies.

Chair and member appointments to the Care Council for Wales
 
The Deputy Minister for Social Services, Gwenda Thomas announced the appointment of Chair to the Care Council for Wales and also a member to represent the perspective of the Voluntary Sector Employers.

Following an open competition, Arwel Ellis Owen from Cardiff has been appointed as Chair and Roger Gant from Brecon  has been appointed as  member.  Both appointments are for a period of 4 years.

Double joy for care organisation

A care organisation is celebrating a prestigious awards double and their partnership with a high school is being hailed as a blueprint for the rest of Wales. Wrexham-based Pendine Park came out on top in two categories at the Social Care Accolades in Cardiff.
